Is your Bathroom somewhere you like to be? No? Make it Gorgeous! Part 3 of 3 – Replacing Shower Doors

Is your Bathroom somewhere you like to be? No? Make it Gorgeous!

Part 3 – Replacing Shower Doors

This is the final segment of my “Making your Bathroom Gorgeous” series.
So on to my sliding shower doors….

Sliding Doors, seriously? Ugh. And even worse, when open, the space to walk through is so small you have to turn sideways just to get out. Whoever built this house, obviously, did NOT think that one through.

I already implemented this Pinterest hack for more storage space in the shower.IMG_7167 2

I took out the shower doors, which was amazingly easy, they were literally just hanging on a track and I just popped them out.

And I added curtains, not a shower curtain, but a real like Living Room curtains, found Here.

And a fabric hotel style shower curtain liner, found Here

Both from Bed, Bath & Beyond… thank goodness for their 20% off coupons!

I wanted the curtains tied back, something like this…

… but not exactly…

I thought rope ties would look nice, considering the rope accents I have on the newly built shelves to the right.

I searched and found these from Restoration Hardware, beautiful, but pricy… Pottery Barn had something similar, but still too pricy…

Luckily, I found this tutorial on Pinterest about how to make your own!

She used copper caps and couplings, I just used PVC pipe and PVC caps… it seems it would be much easier to drill through.

Other than that I followed her tutorial to the T!

Whole thing cost less than $4.

and I LOVE LOVE LOVE the result!

And this concludes part 3, the final segment of how I beautified my bathroom. Thank you, and goodnight!

PS – I did not take the track off of the shower. The top railing and doors are off just not the bottom and side tracks. I am planning on doing that when I refinish (epoxy) the shower. It’s not hard, you just unscrew, scrap off caulk with a razor blade and fill in the holes. But I just wanted to do it all at the same time.
